What I'll never forget: all of the smiling people in the town • running around the hotel to check out everyone else's rooms (they were all different and very cute) • the tranquility of the French countryside • walking all over the town trying to find a place to eat • trying escargot for the first time • Bill and I ordering poached eggs in a wine sauce to everyone's disgust • beer on the bus • admiring shoes in the windows of the (closed) shops with Maegen and Deborah • wishing we had a few more hours in this peaceful place

My favorite foods: cheese for dessert, champagne with cassis



After eating a delicious lunch at a French mall (on the way to Switzerland), I decided to spend a few minutes browsing by myself before we were to meet at the bus.

I walked into a store and found a cute dress for an inexpensive price. Although I didn't have much time, I raced into the dressing room, tried on the dress, and raced out to make my purchase. After several attempts to overcome the language barrier, I was finally able to make my purchse.

I looked at my watch and noticed I was about two minutes late (and nowhere near the bus). Panic set in so I began sprinting through the mall. Outside, I met up with our tour guide, Stephanie, who had left the bus to ...(continued)
