Tour Buddies at the Vatican

A big part of the reason I loved my trip so much was the wonderful people who became my travel buddies for the two weeks I toured Europe. Solo travelers, like me, rely on the other tour members a little bit more, so I felt lucky to have had such great companions. A few even felt it was their mission to look after me as though I were family (thanks especially to Tim, Beth, Bill & Claire!). The group kept me laughing continually, and often, dinner time was more fun than it should be.

Everyone I met had a unique story, a different reason for making the trip. They were celebrating birthdays or anniversaries, enjoying retirement, or celebrating survival one year after Hurricane Katrina. Coming from all over the U.S. and Canada, the tour group was pretty geographically diverse too. However, after traveling all the way to Paris, I was quite surprised to discover that my first roommate on the trip (Maegen) lived only 40 miles away from me in Texas. France didn't feel so far away after all!

To all my tour buddies: I enjoyed your company immensely--thanks for making my trip so memorable! To Stephanie (our lead guide), Dominique (our assistant guide) and Mathieu (our driver): thanks for all you did to make our trip a success!
